An Anglo-Norman manor tucked in to the bends of the Seine
Between Rouen and Honfleur, this old Anglo-Norman manor, built in the 19th century, once belonged to Sacha Guitry and is tucked in to the bends of the River Seine.
In 1913, Sacha Guitry fell under the spell of the property. The director and actor established his summer residence here to entertain and write his first films, « The Scottish Pilgrim » and « Table for Two », and organise parties with his friends Claude Monet, Marguerite Moreno, Jules Renard and Octave Mirabeau. Resold in 1916, the manor once played host to a luncheon for King Olav V of Norway.
The Anglo-Norman style on the banks of the Seine
Since then, the 9-hectare domain, which overlooks the Seine near the little village of Yainville, has retained its coverings of oak, beech and maple trees planted in little groves surrounded by lawns. The amenities and other estate buildings include an exterior pool with sauna and jacuzzi, a tennis court, 2 houses of 2 and 3 bedrooms, a kennel, a greenhouse, a vegetable garden and 2 garages.
An authentic VIP Norman house
The house has retained its authenticity : parquet floors, wooden and marble fireplaces set the tone. With an inhabitable area of 700 m², the ground floor features a living room whose ceiling is 6 metres high with a fireplace and balcony, a bar, a boudoir, a billiard-room, a « Monet » dining room, 2 bedrooms and a terrace. The 1st floor is divided into an apartment of 150 m², a suite with an office, 2 further bedrooms and a sports room. As for the second floor, there are 3 bedrooms and even a kitchen to give absolute independence. Your VIP friends, arriving incognito, will love it !
