Amongst the most widespread of the Hexagon, the Grand Sud departments are bordered by the Rhône-Alpes and Languedoc-Roussillon regions. They comprise the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the Hautes-Alpes, the Alpes-Maritimes, the Var, the Bouches-du-Rhône and the Vaucluse. Living there surrounded by family during summer, or year-round, entails enjoying a warm and sunny Mediterranean climate, on a land blessed by the gods, often associated with fragrances of lavander or following the rhythm of crickets and with the rare and prestigious privilege of being able to  buy a château in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

The passion of Provencal patrimony

In the general spirit, the most famous one is « le Château de ma Mère ». Imaginary, although inspired by the autobiographical novel of Marcel Pagnol and immortalized a little later in a 1990 TV series, it idealizes Astros, in Vidauban, nestled in the Var. This truly mediatized phenomenon, with worldwide proportions, sparked at the time of a strongboom of intentions to move in at all costs. It is a fact that this southern area is filled with historical vestiges, witnesses of the local medieval or aristocratic history. But becoming an owner on these sun-filled lands is not something that can be improvise. Your personal approach must be organized by roaming the towns and villages around which these emblematic historical monuments, built between the 8th and 19th century, sometimes at the heart of orchards or vineyards, produce good wines, with as project to find, then fall head over heels in love with you choice.

A land blessed by the gods and real estate investors

So why buy a château in France else where than here? This territory is considered by all as a land of tradition, of millenial culture and gastronomy, with an added singing accent. From the back country of the Mediterranean coast, these prestigious homesteads enable its dwellersto spend summers in a postcard decor, while dreaming under open skies in front of an enchanting picture that nobody ever tires of.
