2h30 from the capital, this delightful old small fishing port has morphed into a leading tourist destination in recent years. A success largely due to its picturesque, authentic charm, its seaside which favors water sports, its local gastronomy, with a prestigious real estate and land park which cultivates a discretion of high quality. On these Norman lands, deluxe houses for sale in Honfleur don't remain very long in catalogs, as demand is high in a region where global warming has already changed habits.

The scenic charm of houses with slate roofs

A capital event that did not escape investors and all those seeking second homes near Paris. New generations of potential clients are delighted to follow in the footsteps of Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Erik Satie and Claude Monet. Since a long time, artists have been inspired by the romantic lights of its Impressionist-style Old Basin, its lush gardens and more generally by the deluxe villas for sale in the Calvados which make up most of the charm of the region. Without forgetting the recent craze, sparked by the Normandy Outlet, the first shopping village of its kind in this Western region, a modern outlet entirely dedicated to the worlds of fashion, art of living along with convenient fast food where shopping is in full swing. These are all elements likely to drive up the prices of beautiful properties in this small scenic town which has a very large influx of visitors on weekends.

A historical homestead to be rediscovered

This frenzy leaves its heritage unmoved, including this Anglo-Norman building nestled in the loops of the Seine, not far from the city. Built in the 19th century, on an area of 19 hectares, it belonged to actor and director Sacha Guitry, from 1913. He then established his summer residence there, iniviting many socialites, an ideal venue to write his first films and receive his friends Claude Monet, Marguerite Moreno, Jules Renard or Octave Mirabeau. Sold in 1916, the place had the honor of welcoming the King of Norway, Olav V for a memorable lunch.
