On each parcel of the hexagonal territory, the Order of the Knights Templar, a branch of the French knighthood during the Middle Ages, left behind many examples of a rigorous architecture, featuring military, religious, hospital or farming edifices. Thus, commanderies, churches and farms are scattered around the cities and the countryside of the Seine-et-Marne department, 1h outside of Paris.

A Templar's implantation in the Seine-et-Marne department

This construction benefitting from a natural environment, protecting it against attacks, has a long history. Its origins go back to the 13th century and the crosses, engraved at the surface of its stones are living testimonies. On a 3-hectares plot of land, comprising 10 buildings behind the imposing facade, the ensemble opens up on a courtyard where the owner's apartment appears.
