There are many memories of the First Empire in this city on the French Riviera, located in the hills to the north of the Cannes Croisette. So much so that a very symbolic course pays homage to the 1st Emperor of the French, who created a route there, from Golfe-Juan to Grenoble and from the small Provençal villages at the foot of the Alps. Over time, it has become an original and moving touristic attraction for its admirers. Dotted with some of the most prestigious  deluxe houses for sale in Grasse, the Route Napoléon features several stelae and a column surmounted by a bust of the Emperor along the roadside.

In the Pays de Grasse, perfume-related know-how is listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Following the rhythm of the seasons and blossoms, the world capital of fragrances has always attracted the most prestigious cosmetic brands. It is also the winner of flowerbed competitions between towns and villages, while its gardens and museums are the subject of special presentations around cultivated varieties of tuberose, jasmine, orange tree, rose, verbena, lemongrass, violet, mimosa, daffodil and lavender. Around its cathedral and its museums, prestigious properties nestled in the discreet districts of Saint-Jacques, Saint-François, Saint-Antoine and Peymeinade. This is where it is strongly recommended to  buy a deluxe villa in the Alpes-Maritimes, if you want to take up residence in the paradise of Provencal aromatic plants.

Real estate gems hidden in nature

In the Tuscany of Grasse, dear to Fragonard and Molinard, a venue attracts attention, a few steps from the center and the maze of narrow and shaded streets that make up the historical district. It is the Manoir du Blanchissage, near Valbonne and the Sophia Antipolis Technology Park. This 17th-century estate, which looks like an old farmhouse, is embellished with a river and an avenue of plane trees. According to all sources, it welcomed Napoleon Bonaparte and his sister Pauline Borghese during their stays in the region.
