Luteca, which is a far cry from folklore not suited to our particular climate, is turning artisanal Mexican expertise into the main calling card of this modern French design brand.

Those who have been lucky enough to visit North America have gotten a glimpse of ancient Aztec, Mayan, and Hispanic cultures. From a design perspective, Mexico is turning over a new leaf to become a real powerhouse of avant-garde modernist design. Nowhere is this more evident than in Luteca’s colourful catalogue. The brand’s aesthetic is underpinned by a powerful traditional artisanal heritage, and its products utilise local materials to create truly charming furniture.

The rise of Latin-American talent

The catalogue’s high-impact pages, which feature three unique collections, demonstrate the brand’s expertise in creating original pieces that are influenced by their environment. The Classique collection showcases the vision of artists such as Michael Van Beuren, Clara Porset, and Pedro Ramirez Vazquez. Contemporary features young designers like Jorge Artuo Ibarra, Sami Hayek, Studio Martes, and Rodrigo Berrondo Pablo Igartu.

Innovating by revisiting traditions

Woven reconnects with sacred and ancestral weaving techniques to create outdoor living solutions that span a range of eras. Deckchairs, sofas, stools, chairs, armchairs, high tables, coffee tables, and buffets capture the very essence of the brand’s modern twist on tradition. Luteca’s styles, which are both iconic and cosmopolitan, harness innovative techniques to help us revel in the Mexican sunlight.
