Screens, the decoration trick in a bedroom, or at the office

Practical to partition small surfaces for more intimacy, screens have a long-lasting history. Placed on a base, and generally composed of panels linked together by hinges, most of them can fold up and are surrounded by a supporting frame. These decorative furniture pieces were used during centuries as isolation and protection from the wind, creating a mobile screen between a person and others.

The comeback of the screen, in the bedroom as well as in the office

In wood, in fabric, in metal, in PVC, orientable, flexible or rigid, this clever module separating spaces appeared in China, some 3,000 years ago, before making its entrance in Europe thanks to boats from the French and Dutch Companies of the Indies. Lacquered and decorated by artists from the court, little by little screens evolved into very sophisticated panels that morphed into temporary shelters.
