Alice in Wonderland : a British take on retro-chic tableware

After the success of the book and play based on Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece, but before any films were released, the illustrator Sir John Tenniel created wood engravings depicting the characters from Alice in Wonderland. These same representations of the heroine and her fantastical world can now be enjoyed in a fun and practical way at the table.

The artist’s designs are featured on a complete collection of tableware sold exclusively by V&A for the Kitchencraft group. Coffee cups, spoons, porcelain and to-go mugs, plates, tea pots, saucers, sugar bowls, beautifully decorated glasses and canvas tote bags now immortalise the timeless tale of Alice in Wonderland in a retro-chic style that’s oh-so British.
