The Body Art of Liu Bolin, at The Peninsula Hotel Paris
Partner of Paris Photo, taking place at the Grand Palais, The Peninsula Hotel will pay homage to Chinese artist Liu Bolin, from the 7th to the 30th of November, 2017.
Drawing its origins from Asia, the avenue Kléber palace will be showcasing contemporary Chinese art during 3 weeks. The works of this multi-faceted art venue will enable clients, as well as the public at large, to discover a unique language with living sculptures and photos where color and optical illusion mingle with brio, offering a captivating and hypnotizing artistic « Road Trip ».
The Peninsula Hotel, partner of Paris Photo
Named « the invisible man », Liu Bolin, whose ongoing success will soon be proclaimed by a retrospective of his work at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, poses for hours in front of a wall, a landscape or a symbolic monument. Thus, he completely blends in with the decor like a chameleon and disappears in the landscape so that the environment can take over.
Christophe Raoux, the other in-house artist of the Peninsula Hotel
Meanwhile, on the rooftop of this palace, teeming with history, executive chef Christophe Raoux, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, delights gourmets, who come enjoy a wonderful view overlooking the Eiffel Tower. A la carte, the lobster menu, concocted by this native of the Vendéee region, offering an outstanding culinary background, at 159 € and in 4 services, is a monument of gastronomy. An ephemeral art that deserves all its stars…
