This charming getaway located at the foot of Mount Ventoux in central Comtat Venaissin, a former French province, stands as a bridge between the past and future.
The ancestral home of the aristocracy in the Provence region, Château Martinay is reliving its glory days under that care of the Deltin family. The building proudly features its neo-Classical facades, which are fashioned from blond stone and included on France’s list of historical monuments. Located not far from the vineyards of the Rhône Valley, the château is surrounded by a 35-hectare park that offers its prestigious guests both peace and authentic charm.
The friendly warmth of a holiday château
Designed to function as a single private home, this historic estate includes seven bedrooms and suites, three outbuildings with private terraces, a greenhouse for hosting events, and an equestrian barn for riders’ horses. Guests can choose from a range of activities, including tennis, working out, pétanque, Ayurvedic massage, balance treatments, yoga, cooking classes, and tours of the vineyards.
An at-home chef
The four living rooms lead out on to large terraces and have retained their original fixtures, including chimneys, woodwork, chandeliers, and furniture, all of which revolve around the French Provence lifestyle. At the château, breakfasts are organic, and lunches are served as outdoor picnics on the lawn. At dinner time, a chef prepares meals based on fresh market ingredients, then serves them in the marquis’ dining room. Only excellence will do!
