Born from a desire to showcase a family heritage, Edition Bougainville uses a creative approach to turn its carpets into jewels for your floors.
Since 1936, Olivier Charles’ family business has been using age-old techniques to create luxury carpet collections. The Cannes-based brand draws inspiration from the great French explorer Count Louis Antoine de Bougainville when designing its custom pieces. Its artisans use their expertise to breathe life into complex and original projects for residences, hotels, yachts, and business aircraft.
An age-old technique
Using ancestral weaving techniques from Nepal and India, the brand’s weavers operate carpet looms installed inside the brand’s workshops. The company’s archives are also mined to turn floor treatments into luxurious and customized works of art. From patterns and colours to sizes and shapes, each style is customized to meet the end client’s vision and achieve complete perfection.
Returning a special heritage to the spotligh
All ranges, including Renaissance, Alpage, Inspiration, Patrimoine, Charleston, Allegory, Chromatic, and Floor Covering, are produced in house. Every prototype is a free interpretation of 18th century designs that combine a pattern, textures, a nebulous or vintage « Spoumato » effect, and a blend of different materials and fibres. Classic writing is combined with a delicate, modern twist to create a timeless work of art.
