Egmont Palace, Brussels’ international conference centre
Located in central Brussels, Egmont Palace is home to the largest international conferences in the world, including European Union summits and meetings between NATO members.
This 16th century building featuring a Renaissance-style façade holds pride of place in the Brussels Sablon district and has changed names and owners several times over the course of Europe’s tumultuous history. Egmont Palace is neither a civil service restaurant, a meeting place for scouts, nor a cultural centre. Ultimately, the site was transformed to host illustrious guests of the Belgian government.
Egmont Palace hosts a Brussels summit
The site is one of Belgium’s crown jewels. This State-owned property, which underwent large-scale restoration and decorative works in the middle of the last century, welcomes prominent figures during international conferences, and some of its halls are home to the administrative protocol departments of the Belgian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
A historic monument with an international purpose
The building’s various meeting rooms, including the Europe, Blue, Mandarine, Orange, Brel, Arenberg, and Toots rooms ; the Ambassadors’ Staircase ; the Tapestry Room ; Marble Gallery ; and Mirror Gallery, can host anywhere from 16 to 450 people, and the catering service has a wonderful reputation. If your company has global ambitions, make sure to visit this listed historic monument. Prestige comes at a price, after all.
