Etrange ! (Variations en vrac) : the new exhibition at the Chasse-Spleen Art Centre
In Moulis-en-Médoc, in Aquitaine, the Chasse-Spleen Castle Art Centre has combined culture and wine tourism with its new exhibition, « Etrange ! (Variations en vrac) ».
At a time when prestigious homes and foundations are finding a new calling by turning to modern art, the wine trail connecting the finest vineyards in Bordeaux is taking up the cause as well. During the past three seasons, Chasse-Spleen Castle, under the direction of Céline and Jean-Pierre Foubet, has opened its doors to lovers of fine art and fine wines alike.
A new exhibition at Chasse-Spleen Castle
From 2 May to 31 October 2019, the « Etrange ! (Variations en vrac) » exhibition is sure to turn heads. Wine makers will recognise the title as a reference to the stage in which the wine has not yet been transferred to the bottle. The exhibition showcases the treasures the art-collecting couple has amassed over the past ten years, offering a record and insight into their process and risks.

Within the rooms and gardens of an 18th century holiday home, you can enjoy a series of esoteric works, the surprises they offer, and the atmosphere created through a variety of media, including paintings, videos, installations, photos, and sculpture. You can even stay at the Chasse-Spleen as part of your visit. The castle includes three spacious and very comfortable guest rooms.
