The new hybrid motor breed in the Lexus family combines the performance of a crossover and the shape of a saloon.
Unveiled at the start of the year at the Detroit Motor Show, the Lexus LF1 is a sign of things to come for the maker’s top-end model. It was conceived in the Japanese manufacturer’s design centre in South Carolina, USA, to stake out their position in the most luxurious segment of the car industry. With its dynamic profile and flowing lines, it looks sporty and solid.
The Lexus LF-1, a car without limits
This brand new concept, which marries crossover and high-performance saloon, can be delivered with a fuel cell, a hybrid or a plug-in hybrid engine. Under the long bonnet and the lowered roof line, it is hiding an engine which provides an autonomous driving mode - christened Chauffeur - which operates for direction, braking and acceleration.
A 4D tactile navigation system
This technological showcase, coming down with screens, has been designed for 4 passengers who get the treatment with wrap-around seats. In addition to its high-tech functions, the 4D navigation system adds the time factor to the pleasure of driving, and once this jewel in the crown of the Lexus range goes on the market at the end of 2018, its advantages will be limitless...
