In Liege, the Royal Opera of Wallonia is taking centre stage
Topped with a modern-style addition, the Royal Opera of Wallonia, located in Liege, is expanding its programme line-up.
Out of Belgium’s three most prestigious opera houses, the venue in Wallonia’s economic capital draws in audience members from Brussels, Germany, Luxembourg, France, and the Netherlands. This neo-classical temple to classical music was first built in 1820 and has now finally regained its erstwhile splendour.

With a seating capacity of 1000, the opera’s multi-purpose, Italian-style auditorium can now be used to host even the most modern shows, symposiums, or conferences. To promote its 2019 season, its line-up will feature works by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Rossini, and Cervantes as interpreted by leading conductors.
Multi-faceted activities
The opera’s artistic activities, which its musicians, choirs, and ballet perform the world over, don’t stop there ! The building also includes its own gourmet restaurant and reception hall, which hosts all manner of events, including launch parties for cultural or commercial products, cocktail hours, and galas.
