Pegged to the Paris Art Design fair, Manufacture de Sèvres is showcasing the works of its confirmed artists.
A national artistic institution, the Manufacture de Sèvres is the French window-display of porcelain. It is installed since 1740 in the eponymous Hauts-de-Seine city and its production is oriented towards contemporary editions. For its 13th participation of PAD Paris, in the Tuileries gardens from the 19th to the 25th of October 2020, it will present a series of pieces stemming from its collaborations with leading names in the universe of design.
PAD Paris invites La Manufacture de Sèvres
It will be inviting design enthusiasts and collectors to discover its creation thanks to a scenography conceived in keeping with two distinct ambiances: the colored universe of Pierre Charpin, the cape vases of Matali Crasset, those of Ettore Sottsass and the interior fountains of Arthur Hoffner, along with the white universe of cinetic paintings by Julio Le Parc, the vases of Sakura de Nendo and the sculptures of Christian Renonciat.
Timeless and contemporary pieces gathered
The works of Emmanuel Boos, Kristin McKirdy and Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann created a link between each other in order to present creations from today and yesterday to an enthusiastic audience. Never-ending sources of inspiration so that artists can appropriate themselves this fascinating material and nourrish an ongoing dialogue with the artisans of La Manufacture. This is how are born works which will partake in the history of art.
