Notre Monde platters: zoom on the Urban Geometry series
Inspired by Art Deco architecture, the Urban Geometry platter collection by Notre Monde, combines luxury and functionality.
From breakfast time to aperitif hour, including meals, this object of daily living, with raised sides to avoid its content from slipping out, has always been used to place and transport plates, bowls or glasses, thus reducing movements around the house. Over the centuries, the platter attracted the attention of designers that have finally put it in the spotlight.
Notre Monde on a platter
In the Notre Monde studio, this recipient of reduced thickness that comes in versatile shapes—very often rectangular, round or oval—went through the hands of Dawn Sweitzer, the in-house artistic director. In her collection Urban Geometry, she inspires herself from the codes of Art Deco architecture by illustrating platters with the geometric motifs she was able to discover during her trips to Europe.
Decoration with an added touch of color
Each one in its own manner, these pieces display a streamlined design and a monochrome palette, enhanced by paprika, pumpkin, saffron and steel blue overtones, thus conveying a special balance and highlighting the practical spirit. They bring a decorative touch, a little bit of colour and originality to an interior, while combining luxury with functionality. And of course, they can be delivered on a platter…
