In Paris, more than a private house, an architectural feat nestled in lush greenery

This private house is probably one of the best kept secrets of the 16th arrondissement! At the heart of a discreet islet between Auteuil and La Muette, it features exceptional volumes, enhanced by an architecture with rare daring.

A house of exception at the heart of urban density

The homage paid to Mallet-Stevens and Le Corbusier, who signed in neighboring streets several houses and private mansions, considered as major architectural feats of the 20th century, is obvious. But this 1200 m² house looks like no other. Its volumes are dressed up with elegance thanks to the use of interlaced ellipses, following the lines of a drawing conceived by Italian architect Stefania Stera: « We worked for quite some time with the owners on the layout of this house. We asked ourselves how to offer the highest exploitation of this marvellous site, almost wild, at the heart of urban density. The multiplication of ellipses enabled us to get rid of these constraints and to install the construction amidst its natural environment, that becomes omnipresent. »

New perspectives enhanced by an architectural feat

Shaking up codes, this house, built 20 years ago, is in totaly harmony with its garden of 1500 m². Thus, each room offers new views and new perspectives. A far cry from classic Parisian private mansions, it plays with the different levels allowing light to enter in keeping with the seasons. Its 5 levels unveil – or not – their secret openings and their mysterious pieces of furniture, in the image of this articulated dressing room, seemingly overhanging above the parental suite or the closets of the main living room, hidden behind their mirrors… From the indoor pool on the ground floor to the independent penthouse apartment looking out on several panoramic terraces, the very special universe created by Stefania Sera can be discovered by looking at the 14 frescoes painted by Italian artist Marco Tirelli. Much more than a house, a unique experience.
