Peninsula Classics, the Best of Automobile Elegance in Paris
The Peninsula Hotel Paris hosted the Best of the Best Prize, a trophy carried off by a Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, a star of automobile elegance.
Naomi Harris, the British actress who played Miss Moneypenny in the latest episodes of James Bond, was present at the unveiling of the luxury cars which have won the biggest international competitions. The hands-down winner of the 3rd Best of the Best Prize was the 1936 Bugatti, nicknamed the « Mona Lisa of collectors ».
Automobile elegance booked into the Hotel Peninsula
This vehicle has a long history. Considered the first « Supercar », it is one of the four Type 57 Atlantic models ever produced. Conceived at the height of the Art Decor period, only the « Aero Coupé » whose elegant lines and performance were a contemporary sensation, was delivered before the War, to Nathaniel Mayer Victor, the third Baron Rothschild.
A gala dinner in tribute to the cars dreams are made of
Lined up next to the Bugatti were 7 of the sports cars of your dreams, also in the competition. Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lancia, Mercedes-Benz and ATS were all proudly flying their flags. And to celebrate the event, the guests were invited to a gala dinner in the private salons of the hotel. A good opportunity to talk about the 4th edition of the prize whose location is still a secret…
