A stroll through Grasse with the artist, painter, and perfumer Laurence Fanuel

Under the winter sun of the countryside surrounding Cannes, the city, once the birthplace of Fragonard and Molinard and now the epicentre of LVMH’s ambitions, was a natural choice for Laurence Fanuel’s adoptive city. This multi-faceted artist has created Rosa Rose, a brand whose fragrances target both body and mind—and come with a dose of her Belgian sense of humour.

In the world’s perfume capital, this former Procter & Gamble employee set up shop at 5 Rue de l’Oratoire with the single-minded desire to dive into the fragrance market. In her workshop, her trestle, canvases, and brushes are never far away whenever the need for a creative outlet strikes. Laurence seamlessly switches between her three professions as a painter, writer, and perfumer.

Our Lady of Perfume

In a fragrance market niche that’s already saturated, this devotee of Hermès and Chanel is gradually making a name for herself by daring to be original—both in her fragrances and her modern art. An active member of the « Living Heritage of Grasse » association, Laurence has crafted a new signature and a world you can step into. She sets out to make each of her clients a unique work of art.
