Through bowls, vases, and candlesticks, Vista Alegre redefines chic
This autumn, porcelain designer Vista Alegre is offering a fresh spin on the medium by creating bowls, vases, and candlesticks that add colour to your interiors.
Founded in 1824 by José Ferreira Pinto Basto, Vista Alegre was Portugal’s very first porcelain factory. Five years later, it was awarded the title of Royal Factory in recognition of its artistic talent in the production of pottery and glasswork featuring relief, engraved patterns, decorative trim, and delicately sculpted medallions.
Vista Alegre offers a fresh take on porcelain
Today, each of its new collections is event that elicits both astonishment and enthusiasm. « Folkifunki » is no exception. This series of bowls, vases, plates, and candlesticks designed by Jaime Hayon, the rulebreaker of Spanish design, reflects a trend that consists of combining separate shapes and playing with everyday objects.
A blend of genres and styles
These bold pieces, which feature a striking artistic signature, can be combined with others, be shown off on their own, placed on any table, or even hung on a wall as decoration. Portuguese symbols like fish, animals, the countryside and Azulejo tiles reflect the designer’s vision, showcasing his whimsical approach and limitless imagination.
