« Trait d'Union », an Exhibition of stars at the Studio Harcourt until April 30th 2018
Studio Harcourt, that celebrity-haunt, is making a sensation with its new exhibition of photos acting as a go-between amongst stars.
Synonymous with a matchless photographic experience for stars in the spotlight, Studio Harcourt has been taking portraits for 80 years. Awarded a living heritage label, « Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant », for its unique expertise, Studio Harcourt reaches back to the roots of black-and-white cinema for its inspiration. The angles used have the special quality of getting close to the subject, who is immortalised by the occasion at his or her best, with a 3/4 shot, a low-angle shot, or backlit with projectors on a grey-black background.
Studio Harcourt, where it’s never too late to shine
The capital’s most-celebrated studio sees actors, writers, politicians and all of high society come through its doors for photo sessions. Clients are first made-up then photographed with tight angles. This temple of images has been brought up to date and now houses a boutique, a restaurant, stewarded by the caterer Dalloyau, and photo studios.
A Celebrity Go-Between
Entitled « Trait d'Union », the exhibition shows models who did not come to the studio unaccompanied. On the walls of the image temple, we find 60 shots assembling couples, duos, families and notables linked by singular histories. This is a never-before-seen collection, which has quickly made itself unmissable in Parisian date-diaries, because in France, you aren’t a star till you’ve have your photo taken by Harcourt...
