In Le Havre, all summer long the Carré des Docks setting offers an immersive voyage in the work of Vincent Van Gogh.
Stronghold of modern art, the city of Le Havre invites the light and Provencal sun to Normandy, with Imagine Van Gogh, a very special cultural project. Until the 1st of September 2019, the exhibition reveals the painter's universe of colours and emotions, while encouraging visitors to travel through his canvases during a journey at the heart of giant images excerpted from 200 of his most famous works.

The details, touches, materials and colours are in synch to live a very special experience. Indeed, all the senses are awakened in front of canvases painted from 1888 to 1890, in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Arles and Auvers-sur-Oise, thanks to the advanced techniques of multi projection and immersive audio techniques in order to live and feel the creative energy of this passionate artist.
Being part of the image
Imagined by Annabelle Mauger and Julien Baron, who created the spectacles of Cathédrale d'Images, in the abandoned quarries of Baux-de-Provence, this « Happening » enables spectators to be totally integrated in the image. The festive impression is even reinforced by the synchronized diffusion of a musical sound track—we literally dive in the skin of Vincent Van Gogh…
