The Hague welcomes the Discovering Mondrian exhibition
It's at the Gemeentemuseum of the Hague, in the Netherlands, that the largest Piet Mondrian retrospective is taking place, showcasing 300 works. A very impressive exhibition !
The most influent artist of the abstract movement, Dutchman Pieter Cornelis Mondrian, who asked to be called Piet Mondrian, has been a great source of inspiration: French Haute Couture, furniture, daily living objects as well as public space. Each one of these have taken up the coloful themes of his streamlined canvases that no longer use images as a reference.

The one who built lines and color combinations on flat surfaces to express himself, has indeed created a pictural language. An innovative approach that made him the pioneer, then the ring leader of the abstract movement, an emerging trend in the bustling worldwide artistic scene, along with Kandinsky, Kupka, Fernand Léger, Picabia, Robert and Sonia Delaunay.

Public life, private life, a multi-faceted career
More than simple paintings cleverly presented, the exhibition also features letters, photos as well as his collection of vinyl records. Here is a unique occasion to take a look at the life-size reconstruction of Mondrian's Parisian workshop. Thus, visitors can discover the evolution of the artist considered as the most modern of the 20th century.
