At the center of Brussels, the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are deluxe shopping malls, covered with glass arcades, where chic shopping is kingpin.
Everything began in 1830, when it became obvious that the Belgian capital truely deserved an elegant commercial spot worthy of the name. Architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaer was commissioned to undertake this grandiose project, whose official inauguration took place on the 20th of June, 1847. Amongst the oldest in Europe, this commercial mall, comprises the gallery of the Queen, the one of the King and of the Princes.

Having immediately become a strolling destination, that sustained different fashions, the main passage adopted a Renaissance style. Its 200-meters long are covered with a glass dome that allows daylight to pour in. One gains access to this monument from several streets, and the buzzing animation here is permanent.

Inside, window-displays rival in creativity : shoe stores, jewelers, chocolatiers, fine grocery shops, leather goods, bookstores and restaurants are all present.
