At home, as well as at the office, the screen is the perfect decoration item to make living together in the same space more comfortable.

Practical to partition small surfaces for more intimacy, screens have a long-lasting history. Placed on a base, and generally composed of panels linked together by hinges, most of them can fold up and are surrounded by a supporting frame. These decorative furniture pieces were used during centuries as isolation and protection from the wind, creating a mobile screen between a person and others.

The comeback of the screen, in the bedroom as well as in the office

In wood, in fabric, in metal, in PVC, orientable, flexible or rigid, this clever module separating spaces appeared in China, some 3,000 years ago, before making its entrance in Europe thanks to boats from the French and Dutch Companies of the Indies. Lacquered and decorated by artists from the court, little by little screens evolved into very sophisticated panels that morphed into temporary shelters.

It can be found just as well in an apartement as in an open office space, to be used for more discreet encounters. And since fashion repeats itself, it has undergone a renaissance with the signature of leading design brands dedicated to the house. So think of personalizing yours…
