Katharine Pooley, a design inspired by a taste for far-flung travels and adventure
The publication of Katharine Pooley's book, Journey by Design, is an occasion to discover this London author whose work reflects a taste for travel and adventure.
An intrepid traveller having visited more than 150 countries, escaladed the highest mountains in the world, led a team of sled dogs to the North Pole and crossed the Sahara desert on horseback, the talented British born Katharine Pooley has forged herself an image as an interior architect with a daring style, inhabited by several far-flung expeditions. Her book, Journey by Design, retraces her travel adventures.
Katharine Pooley, globe-trotting design
Page after page, one discovers refined and eclectic interiors, from the rustic charm of the Forter castle, in the Scottish Highlands, to a contemporary villa on Palm Islands, in Dubai, or the golden overones of a private residence in Doha, Qatar. Her trademark is always identified by the exacting attention she brings to each detail of a project.
