Rocking chair for Americans, rocker or glider for Canadians, this moving armchair whose seat and legs are attached by two curved bands producing the back and forth rocking, is in vogue again. Though Benjamin Franklin is sometimes credited with inventing it, it is more likely that this relaxing chair first appeared in England in the 18th century.

Rocking tendencies

Perfect to relax, its design has evolved from the outdated rustic living room decor of the Far West to fit in more contemporary interiors. Though wood is still dominant in the manufacturing of vintage models, wicker, polycarbonate, fabric, metal and concrete have shaped it into forms that are more adapted to our modern lifestyle.

Unrivaled sitting comfort

This chair is not a seasonal piece of furniture one occasionally takes back out in the summertime, it has become a classic. Since Kennedy was prescribed the use of a rocking chair by his physician, it has been glamorous, and is even said to soothe infants. As its unrivaled comfort is back in contemporary decoration, why not have yours custom-made ?
