Museum Garage, Miami’s new urban attraction
A new arrival on the architectural landscape of Miami, the Museum Garage is an urban attraction that’s worth the trip.
If you went on holidays to Miami this summer, you won’t have missed the coloured contours of this 7-storey building. It is located on Lincoln Street, in the heart of the Design District, and part of the tourist itinerary 2018 since its opening. Far from being a closet for cars, it bears witness to creativity inspired by the parlour game Cadavre Exquis (Exquisite Corpse).
Miami gives itself a new urban attraction
Its structure is the result of collaboration between several architecture firms and artists, like Clavel Arquitectos, WORKac, Nicolas Buffe, J. Mayer H and Keenen/Riley. Together, they divided out the construction of the facades, giving rise to strong visual contrasts. Interlocking puzzle pieces, stripes, aerodynamic forms from automobile design, the whole edifice seems to float above the pavement.

A cultural and social spot in the city centre
A mixed-use building, its collection of images is a playground for art and fashion, a stone’s throw from one of Florida’s most beautiful beaches. Very photogenic and capable of holding 800 cars, the Miami Garage Museum today plays host to all kinds of events and luxury brands which are shaping up to organise their product launches, receptions, catwalks and other cocktail evenings…
