Facing the Tuileries gardens, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs has undergone a renovation in order to reveal its setting dedicated to design through the unique panorama of contemporary creation. The exhibiton, La Folle Histoire du Design, offers a global vision of its collections spanning a 2000 m² scenography that displays more than 1000 works conceived by cult designers.

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs showcases the Story of Design

The visitor is invited to stroll through the eclectic universe of Jean Prouvé, François-Xavier Lalanne, Roger Tallon, Charlotte Perriand, Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison or Iris van Herpen. As an echo to graphic art, fashion, wall papers, toys, glassware and photography, their spotlight pieces are presented in amusing galleries set up by Normal Studio.

Very tempting vintage furniture

From the 3rd to the 8th level of the Pavillon de Marsan, a wing of the Louvre turned into a museum, the impressive views of the Eiffel Tower and the arcades of Rue de Rivoli are showcased amongst objects and historical furniture highlighting aesthetics. From recent acquisitions to pieces never exhibited, this retrospective is a way to rethink one's own decoration, while admiring very tempting vintage furniture on display….
