He creates a bridge between history and the present day, and between the East, where he was born, and the West, where he lives, then applies this unique approach to his professional endeavours with charm and subtilty. Florent Maillard, whose family member is a famous architect, grew up in Somme Bay. His penchant for beautiful types of stone, decorative architecture, and design has proven to be an excellent outlet for his creativity.

The two designers were destined to meet each other and transform their differences into synergies. CM Studio’s founding principle was simple—create a symbiosis between the interior and the exterior of a building. As a result, the firm strives to connect each location to its surrounding environment by selecting the right architectural design and decorative elements that also reflect the building’s era.

A poetic approach to design

For the founders of CM Studio, staging a home consists of reinterpreting its rooms and shapes as well as re-surfacing the floors. Their style focuses on the rhythm, symmetry, and poetry of the interior design in each project and the sensuality of the materials, which feature carefully thought-out finishes. Historical elements and second-hand items and furniture are also incorporated into the magical atmospheres they create.
