The Grand Hôtel du Soleil d'Or in Megève, the latest addition to the Millésime Collection Group

While it has become Megève’s newest luxury lifestyle destination, the Grand Hôtel du Soleil d'Or already boasts a rich history. The building was renovated by the hotel group Millésime Collection, which is opening a growing number of locations in France. The hotel started welcoming its first clients even before this upscale ski resort town became popular in the early 20th century. Ultimately, however, the building fell into disrepair.

Megève welcomes the Grand Hôtel du Soleil

Three village-style chalets, featuring a cosy, vintage, and spacious design, were built next to the main building, bringing the total number of rooms and suites on offer to 28. With help from Marie-Christine Mecoen, the group’s artistic director, the hotel was renovated with a stunning decorating scheme that culminates in a cosy ambiance. Warmth and elegance are the watchwords for every design decision—and all without altering the original Megève feel of the property.

A lush and delicious experience

This mountain retreat has enlisted the help of Chef Flora Mikula to emphasise the importance of communal meals featuring generous servings and carefully selected ingredients.
