In the Wallon region of the Luxembourg province, the Redu village of barely 400 inhabitants is known as « the Book Village », since 1984. Of the 30 commerces open, no less than 15 bookshops welcome each year more than 200 000 visitors, all dedicated book lovers, who have been joined by art buffs to discover Mudia, a playful museum attraction.

A new museum in Belgian Ardennes

In a former 19th century presbytery, entirely renovated, Mudia focuses on allowing a young audience to enjoy an unusual experience, learning while having fun, thanks to a score of games, animated paintings, videos and tests scattered amongst the more than 300 original and international works, from the Gothic, Renaissance and contemporary eras.

The venue offers a general vision on the history of art: Veronese, Brueghel, Rodin, Spilliaert, Wouters, Picasso, Modigliani, Giacometti, Magritte, Hergé, Franquin and Geluck, with paintings, sculptures, drawings, photos, comic strips, films and interactive digital stories presentd as a dialogue between a guide and the museum mascot. A visit to be enjoyed essentially as a family outing…
