Only 3h15 from Paris on the Thalys, Amsterdam now features a gourmet venue that is worth the journey. This member of The Leading Hotels of the World chain is located alongside the Amstel canal. At the heart of the Okura hotel group European flagship, where the bywords are luxury and comfort, the venue imposes itself as a leading reference on the Dutch gastronomical scene.

Hôtel Okura, the culinary flagship of Amsterdam

The tasting session begins on the ground floor in the very contemporary decor of « La Serre », a pristine brasserie that revisits the standards of an international cuisine with a small touch of modernity. All those who enjoy Japanese culinary specialties will be able to indulge in a stunning Teppanyaki Sazanka, while watching the precise gestures of the chef, who juggles with the ingredients under the admirative gaze of his clients at the Yamazato, the first traditional Japanese restaurant to have obtained a Michelin star in Europe, thanks to the talents of executive chef Masanori Tomikawa.

2 leading chefs at the piano

But to finally penetrate in the holy of holies, Le Ciel Bleu, one must take the elevator up to the 23rd floor. Doubly starred, this table at the summit offers stunning views on the Venice of the North. What also attracts the attention are the plates of Onno Kokmeijer, nominated chef of the year in 2019 by the Gault&Millau guide, along with Arjan Speelman, offering 3 exclusive menus.
