Architectural aficionados will flock to this Eldorado. Immense buildings are taking shape before tourists’ very eyes and giving them even more reasons to explore these futuristic construction projects. Such buildings are cropping up all around the United Arab Emirates, and the entire country is quickly earning a reputation for its entertainment offerings.

Abu Dhabi’s new architectural rules

Just 30 minutes from the capital city, a forest of skyscrapers is sprouting from the ocean’s surface. As of a few months ago, the island now boasts luxury hotels, offices, and buildings that defy the imagination. Capital Gate leans more than the Tower of Pisa, the headquarters of Aldar looks like a coin, and the office of Etihad Airways resembles a giant bottle-opener.

A recreational hub

Other marvels are well worth the trip. The Yas Marina Circuit, which hosts a Formula One Grand Prix every year and includes a track that cuts through a five-star hotel without making the slightest noise, the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the only theme park dedicated to the Italian car manufacturer ; and Yas Waterworld, a futuristic water park with one-of-a-kind rides that also happens to be set along a picture-perfect beach.
